Getting Healthy with Android
I am an android newbie and I am so far very fascinated at and with what I see. It has been quite an experience for me in the last couple of hours. Very exciting that I find reason to write home about it:
Android has many free apps. Many free apps: more than you can imagine. So guess what I uploaded first:
I am kinda health freak. And at the moment, my diet is restricted and I am making attempts to doing some exercise. [Like I do every summer.] If you are like me and you are a girl, then you not only know but understand that image is everything. It is also a guy thing these days as well.
Daily Ab workout by Daniel Miller
I love to work out in organized spaces and with the right instructions. Well if you are like me, that App is for you. I found this pretty simple and easy to follow. You can use this is the comfort of your living or bed room. This workout plan for your abdomen gives you 3 selected work out lengths. 5 min, 7.5 min and 10 min. Work out 1 has 10 exercises:
Basic Crunch, Right Oblique Crunch, Left Oblique Crunch, Bicycle Crunch, Reverse Crunch, Long Arm Crunch, Crossover Crunch, Half Curl, Vertical Leg Crunch and lastly the Plank. The exercise are proven , and demonstrated by a certified personal trainer, and they target all abdominal muscles.
If you make these exercises a habit for 10 -20 minutes every day, then you are definitely guaranteed great Ab muscles in a while and maybe say bye to the beer and food bellies. The second Workout costs USD 0.99. Not that expensive if you want to look good.
My other favorite is
The Calorie Counter:
Oh yeah, you may think that the calorie count in a sweet potato in Kabale is different from a sweet potato in Europe. Maybe Yes and may be no: This Calorie Counter App has one of the largest food Databases ever. It has over 1,700,000 foods, That is rather strange considering Rice, beef, chicken , fish , water melon, potatoes and so many other fall in the ‘Universal Foods’ Category.
This App has the easiest and fastest food entry: it fully syncs with the Web. So you can log onto it with either your computer or your phone. And your data is backed up online: so you are able to use it anytime without worrying about losing data. And what I find interesting is that you are able to create your own custom foods and exercises, track all major nutrients, progress reports, customized goals based on your diet goals. So you can always enter Malewa and Githeri onto the app: and it will be understood.
I think that sometimes we take things for granted. Not so much but a little. So investing time into things like this is regarded as ‘time-wasting’. But are you looking to turning a new leaf and a new experience: you could go through your Android phone and get exploring. There are many Health and Fitness Apps that will help you work out, choose your recipes and lay off the extra calories, most of which are free.
Remember to keep away from the Apps that do not add anything in terms of value to who you are. There are plenty of those as well.
