Twitter suffers a ‘Global Meltdown’
This has got to be very interesting. Twitter just suffered a global meltdown. For a couple of minutes, No one could access it. Well not a couple: but for over 40 minutes.
I had noticed until a couple of guys said so on Face Book. I had refreshed my Homepage for a couple of times and I noticed that the tweets were from about 24 minutes back. This is strange I thought to myself. It did not cross my mind that anything was wrong considering the internet connection on my phone was not of any help either.
About 10 minutes later I got back to my desk: Logged into FB and this is what met my eyes.
But what I got to realize was one thing that I always talk of. Social Media is like a drug. Once you start using it, it is hard to stop. The rather odd thing was that there was no Blue whale to look at and admire. All that was accessible was: ‘this webpage is not available’. Rather uncreative I must say.
According to Twitter during those few minutes, this was their message: Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue.
The tweets that followed after were rather hilarious.
And they kept getting better:
At the moment Twitter is on and of. How long this will go on for is unknown. And I am pretty sure the engineers are working on it. The people that I am worried about though are the fanatics and those that live on Twitter. We the geeks will watch and wait while writing home about it!
